Afterparty @ Ministry Of Sound
The summer parties are in full flow and June’s was probably our best one of the year for music and atmosphere. A really up for it crowd on a fantastic summers evening in London. Moving the headliners downstairs seems to work well and it is something we will continue to look at doing in the future.
For July we have a house legend joining us in Pete Gooding, a man who’s been behind the decks at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza for eight hours a night for the last seven years. Pete’s unique quality is that he’s equally capable of rocking main rooms as backrooms, bars or even a chilled terrace. Unmistakably Pete Gooding’s dj’ing is a little bit special. For us though he will be rocking the main room with pumping house at its finest!
He has combined his marathon sets at Cafe Mambo with residencies at El Divino, Renaissance, and Cream in Mallorca. Pete also plays regularly for Radio 1 on their Ibiza weekends as well as doing a guest mix on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection Show. The season ended on a real high when Pete won the highly acclaimed award for “Best Ibiza DJ ” at the Pacha Awards.
Over the last seven Years Pete’s has become an Ibizan institution because of those very special nightly sunset journeys, which has led to him compiling the award winning Café Mambo compilations for the past five years. Throughout each summer he has written his own column in DJ Magazine’s monthly Ibiza supplement in addition to continuing as singles reviewer for the magazine. We are delighted he is flying over especially to play this gig from his busy Ibiza schedule.
Pete’s career has not been limited to the White Isle, on his return at the end of each summer, Pete forfeits his right to a well earned rest by playing the length and breadth of the U.K. and also tirelessly touring further a field, playing in over twenty five countries worldwide. We are delighted to welcome such a house legend to play on board the boat. Lets hope he brings some Balearic weather with him too!
Joining Pete on deck will be The Persuaders who have already played around 15 boat parties for us now, and are our longest serving residents. You can check out their latest podcast by going here: www.soundcloud.com/thepersuaders.
Ian Tucker and Alex Maxwell are a very talented duo from Guildford who have played at Ministry of Sound for us as well as numerous other top clubs around the country and capital. They have been busy of late launching their ‘Evissa Soul’ brand and you can be sure these two will be armed with a selection of infectious deep tech house cuts to move the dance floor!
Chase and Kingy are a duo who have really moved on since we booked them a few years ago. Their Trigger Funk nights in the capital are going from strength to strength and they are even hosting a boat party of their own in September. They will be joined by Mike Fry and Eddie Mo who have played the boat previously at the back end of last year, their mix of house and tech will go down a treat. Completing the line up on this deck will be newcomer to ES Elearto. Having made his Ministry Of Sound and Plastic Fondu debut for us last time out we were delighted to give him the opportunity to play on the boat. A skilful and diverse Dj who is well worth checking out!
The other deck will be focussing on the more melodic sound of electronic music with some quality tech and prog going through to trance. We have invited an old favourite down from the Midlands in Shaun Mynett. After closing February’s Nocturnal party, following on from Matt Darey, Shaun Mynett returns for his third stint on the ElectronicSessions CDJs. Both of previous visits have been floor filling success stories, and there’s no doubt that his next set for us will be equally crowd pleasing.
For a taste of Shaun’s of uplifting, driving progressive style, look no further than his ‘Progressive With A Punch’ radio show, airing on the third Tuesday of every month on Sense FM.

Our 3 regulars on this deck will be our loveable resident Jez Eyre, Leolife in the form of Steve G and Luke Curran and the ever reliable Mark Myers. All 4 are veterans on the boat parties and that says it all really. They are an extremely talented lot who never disappoint! Leolife have taken a few months off and are back to showcase some of their new productions with a slightly trancier sound. You can check out their podcast here: www.leolife.podomatic.com
Making there ES debuts in July will be the talented duo of Steve Holland and Nick Pietrzak. Steve Holland is a dj from the south coast who plays a mixture of tech and prog. He has already played alongside Mat Zo, Jaytech, Boom Jinx and Andrew Bayer where he warmed up the main bar at Ministry of Sound. Following on from Steve will be another Dj from the same kind of sound who played also recently for Plastic Fondu at MOS and did a very fine job.
Headlining the Upper Deck will be Passion resident Genix who has built up a reputation as one of the freshest dance artists around with his cutting edge production and DJ sets that have cemented his name on the biggest line ups around the world, standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Sander Van Doorn and Judge Jules. His DJ career has taken him across the globe playing at some of the most elite clubs across the UK, all over Europe, China, USA, Russia and Ibiza’s Judgement Sunday’s as well as being resident DJ and promoter for UK superclub Passion, where the world’s most famous DJ’s appear on a monthly basis for the past 15 years.
In 2005 Genix achieved a Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set in history with a massive 84 hours. Whilst raising money for a charity Genix has his name was printed in the world’s most published book! It was only a few years later that the talented technician became Judge Jules ‘Big Tip’ for 2008, following consistent support from the dance music legend Genix featured on Jules’ BBC Radio 1 show with a guest mix and interview.
On the production side of things Genix has developed his own sound – a fusion of Tech, Trance, Progressive, House and Electro… it’s hard to define the Genix sound but you know when you hear it! Groovy and infectious basslines and stomping beats combine with uplifting and electronic elements!
His productions are showcased by the elite DJ’s on major radio stations such as the BBC, ASOT, Tiesto’s Clublife, TATW and Galaxy. Armin made ‘Copius Cain’ ASOT tune of the week, presented Genix with a guestmix on his ASOT 400 show as well as making Genix artiste of the week on the Armada website, check this link out for more info:

This will be Genix’s first appearance for ES as well as his first appearance in London for a good while so make sure you check him out!

4 Parties down, 8 to go in 2010 and we have some really exciting stuff planned. Adam Sheridan played one of the best ES sets in a long time downstairs on May Bank Holiday and we will most definitely be getting him back early next year. Also a special mention to Mike Foyle who was solid as ever for us. Mike has played for us previously, but never on the boat and he finished the party off in style.
June will see us getting back a firm ES favourite in Jon O’Bir. Jon needs little introduction as it will be his third appearance on the boat, as well as being a resident previously at Godskitchen and is still a regular there and at all the top trance promotions around. 2010 has already been one of the busiest for Jon with performances literally all over the globe from Venezuela to Ministry of Sound in London to The Far East to the United States. His artist album Introspectrum has proved a real success and his radio show ‘Ways and Means’ has now been airing for more than 4 years.
We switched the main decks around for the May party and this is something we will consider again for June, but a decision will be made nearer the time.
Joining Mr O’Bir will be a rising star in ES debutant Ali Wilson who has already played for some of the biggest promotions around including Trance Energy and Judgement Sunday and has also produced for some of the top labels in the world – Warner, Armada, High Contrast, Toolroom, CR2, Spinnin, Incharge, Flashover and of course his own imprint TEKELEC. Labelled by Judge Jules and Carl Cox as one of their DJs to watch, Ali has pushed his way into the record boxes of the biggest names in the industry and receives their continuous support.
Ali’s production has taken things to another level when media giant Warner asked Ali to remix The BBC Sound of 2009 award winner ‘Little Boots’ not only once but twice after they were so happy with the first single. From these he’s now been asked to remix the world’s biggest artists such as Tiesto and Bloc Party! His tech trance, driving sound is not to be missed!
Our residents for the night are the incredible talents that are Jamie Parnell and Matt Weeks. Playing off of 3 decks Jamie has been a revelation for us with his driving, uplifting and dirty beats and his passion and enthusiasm behind the decks is second to none. Don’t miss out on this extended set from Jamie…..Matt Weeks’ sound of progressive and melodic house always works well on the boat..Matt can fit into a number of genres and is a real talent to watch.
Our guests this month include debutants in the shape of tech house maestro Roshan Tajapra, making his ES debut alongside the Super Mario Brothers, who will be playing their first intimate venue in sometime after touring the UK festivals belting their House sound out. You can also catch them at Tiesto in the Park this summer in London. We have invited back some firm ES favourites in Danny Moggs and Tim Cullen for their first ES gigs of the year and following them will be Baratone who some will know better as Tyler D. Otherwise known as Dean Tyler, he and Torque will be playing on their 3rd boat party in under a year. Need I say more?
Completing the line up are 3 DJs who have continuously smashed it at Ministry of Sound for our sister night Plastic Fondu. Duncan M, Richie C and Olly Holmes play a mixture of driving progressive, tech house and dirty house and are well worth checking out!
So for the biggest bargain in town, where you can watch the sun go down cruising up and down the Thames, with pub prices, some of the best DJs around and in the best city in the world…what more could you want for a Saturday night in the summer?

The birthday in February and the Anjunadeep party in March most certainly lived up to expectations. Michael Cassette and Solarity’s storming 4 hours of uplifting house, progressive and trance was one of the highlights of ES over the past few years and we will be keeping this high quality standard of bookings as the year moves on.
Yet again the party was a sell out and that is officially are 36th sell out in a row. Doing these monthly was a risk, but one that definitely has paid off and is helping ES go from strength to strength.
Musically we toughen things up slightly for May on the upper deck, with the usual driving, uplifting and dirty house and electro downstairs. Adam Sheridan will be making his long awaited debut for us alongside an ES favourite Mike Foyle, who has supported us when ES Have gone on tour in the UK. The bank holiday will not get any better than this and we have 2 days to recover so time to party hard!

Michael Cassette
Michael Cassette are quickly becoming many people’s favourite Progressive House act, thanks to a string of magnificent productions on the Anjunadeep label that have captured the attention of the masses with their tracks starting to crop up ever more regularly on the worlds best Dj’s playlists. It’s interesting to see how they combine influences from the 80’s into their melodic breakdowns, while balancing it out with modern and funky beats & basslines. Definitely an act to watch out for, especially if you like your Progressive House in equal parts melodic and funky.
Komytea is the collaboration between producers Matti Heininen and Erkka Lempiäinen. Today, Komytea’s deep, dark and twisted sound has rendered it one of the key names in cutting-edge progressive house, and Komytea’s productions have been included in remarkable compilations such as Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep: Vols.1 and 2, James Zabiela’s Renaissance: The Masters, and Ministry of Sound Clubbers’ Guide 2008.
Michael Cassette made a huge impact at the forefront of the dance scene, with tracks like “Zeppelin” and “Shadow’s movement”. Combining up-to-the-minute production techniques with retro influences and nostalgic, melancholic melodies, the music of Michael Cassette is nothing if not unique.
Komytea presents Michael Cassette LIVE is a unique new concept act comprised of live performance and visuals, bringing together music from each extremity of the duo’s sonic spectrum, and everything in between. Not to be missed.
This will be their first appearance for ElectronicSessions and one we are very excited about.

Solarity
Solarity are the much-hyped duo of Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman, both born and raised in London.
Since their very first release appeared in the record crates of some of the world’s most popular DJs in July 2008, Solarity have been proving themselves as a shining beacon of innovation in an often stagnant musical world. In a time in dance music where genre continues to be obsessed over, Solarity have been pioneering their unique sound with a healthy disregard for categories and labels. Their music takes in the best aspects of techno, house, trance and everything in between, fusing it together in a potent mix that is full of both musicality and emotion. From hypnotic grooves and understated melodies, to epic breakdowns and mind-bending electronics, their music has been eagerly winning over fans on a global level, DJs and clubbers alike.
Headline names from traditionally separate corners of the dance music world have been championing their sound, from Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond and Nick Warren to Dubfire and Laurent Garnier. With a stream of releases and gigs scheduled for the near future, this duo are quickly moving up the ranks to become some of the brightest up and coming talents in dance music.Again making an ES debut we are very excited to see them perform.

In Association with Nocturnal
Saturday 27th February 2010

www.electronicsessions.co.uk
It all started in February 2006 when we kicked off ES parties at Se1’s ‘Deep Blue Arena’ with Ashley Casselle, John Askew, Gavyn Mytchell and Andy Bagguley. We would like to think 4 years on we are still pushing boundaries and putting on some of the best and most upfront line ups in the Capital. We have come a long way since then though. With regular parties at Deep Blue in 2006 with the likes of Andy Moor, Simon Patterson and the forementioned we moved onto Hidden in Vauxhall for 4 parties in 2007 with some of the worlds biggest Trance Djs like Gareth Emery, Solarstone, Matt Hardwick, John O’Callaghan and Lange, to name just a few. We also tried out new up-and-coming venues, like Corsica Studios, where we handed London and UK debuts to the likes of Leon Bolier, Jonas Steur, Andrew Bennett and Re:Locate.
It was in 2007 that the boat parties really started to kick off and over the past 4 years we have managed to sell out over 25, which has been an incredible experience for us. It was something we realised no one else was doing on a regular basis and has taken off more than we could of have ever imagined. If you like dancing to some of the best Djs in the world, in an intimate surrounding, with 240 other people then this is for you! Basically one big house party on the Thames.
Over 300 Djs have now graced the ES turntables on the Thames with headliners including Andy Moor, Agnelli and Nelson, Menno De Jong, Futureshock, Jody Wisternoff, Smith & Pledger, Sied Van Riel, Prok and Fitch, Orkidea, Dj Montana, Phil Kieren, Jon O’Bir, Slacker, Greg Downey, Dj Tab & Super 8, David West, Ronski Speed…..the list goes on and on. 2010 is the year we hope to take things up yet another level and we feel for our 4th birthday there is no one better to fit the bill than a legend in the music industry. None other than Matt Darey…..

MATT DAREY
Matt has been one of the pioneers of today’s dance scene being a major influence on today’s world class DJ’s. Because of this, and the fact that this will be Matt’s first London appearance in well over a year, makes this a very special gig.
Throughout his 17 year career of producing & writing house, trance, breaks and progressive and much more he has sold well over 2 million albums & singles with numerous top 10 & top 20 chart hits.
His Nocturnal radio show is the worlds fastest expanding multi genre dance radio show now broadcast on 116 FM stations worldwide. In recent years Matt has been playing his unique “Nocturnal” blend of many styles including electro, progressive, tech, trance and occasional house & breaks. Matt’s new project is an album by his rocktronica band alias `Urban Astronauts` which fuses rock influences with EDM and will be released in 2008…
Matt Darey started his musical career back in 1992 when he released his own independent record and soon after signed his first major album deal with Warner Bro’s and Sire Records in NYC. Matt’s productions have been a major influence on many of today’s top DJ’s like Oakenfold, Tiesto, Armin Van Buren, Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond and many more. A chameleon of sound, Matt has produced everything from breaks to house to trance and progressive and was responsible for some of the pinnacle tracks and top ten chart hits to come from the scene including Li Kwan – Point Zero, Lost Tribe – Game Master, ATB – Till I Come, Binary Finary – 1998, Grace – Not Over Yet, Matt Darey – Beautiful and countless others! Constantly touring the globe Matt is respected as a leading DJ in the scene bringing a truly international & Multi genre flavor to his sets.
Li Kwan – Point Zero was one of the first records to be made of the new Genre that then went on to be known as Trance. Embraced by leading DJ’s at the time Pete Tong who made Matt his essential new tune twice and Paul Oakenfold who quoted that Li Kwan was in his top 5 all time fav tracks. Following on from that Matt got into the remix game and turned out numerous club hits which are listed in the discography section. Meanwhile Matt launched his new act Lost Tribe and created one of the all time club anthems Gamemaster on the legendary Hooj Choons label. Matt also went on to launch artists like Tall Paul and Agnelli & Nelson in to the top 20 for the first time with his massive A-side productions.
Since 1998 he sold well over 2 million singles and albums with the Darey imprint, and has been responsible for some of the biggest remixes and productions. Matt took a vacation from the world of music for almost 3 years from 2001 to 2004 and then came back to launch his own label Darey Products. Today he continues to push forward the sounds of dance music into new areas with his rock influenced productions and has continued to tour the globe with his own unique blend of music from many genres.
It’s not often we bring the labels in to represent themselves, however after the success of Andy Moor’s AVA Party last year we thought this was the perfect opportunity to bring in another one.
TYRRELL
Hailing from Toronto, Canada. Tyrrell moved to London to continue and progress with his music career in the 1990’s. First and foremost a fantastic producer, and engineering for the likes of David Bowie, A Guy Called Gerald, Boy George, George Michael, Blue Pearl , Simply Red, Giles Peterson, Lilly Allen, Ronie Size and Dirty South to name a few you can see how widespread his talent must be. Producing also for the Stero Mc’s and The Orb, his experience and expertise grew and is now making some of the best progressive and top quality house music around. He has been hand picked by Matt Darey himself who is a huge fan of his work and we are all very much looking forward to him making his ES Debut !
THE PERSUADERS

SHAUN MYNETT
Shaun’s “prog’ with a punch” DJ style went down very well at his ES debut in September, and for Plastic Fondu back in April where he played one of the sets of the night.
In 2009, Shaun appeared at clubs including Ministry Of Sound and Gatecrasher, alongside Ronski Speed, Andy Duguid, Seamus Haji, Sonny Wharton, Alex P, and also featured as a Nu Breed DJ on Galaxy FM with Riley & Durrant.
Shaun’s FLUSH brand, based in the midlands regularly teams up with DJs including Sonny Wharton, and Seamus Haji.

LEOLIFE
LeoLife aka Luke Curran & Stephen Glide were formed back in June 2009. Luke & Stephen have known each for nearly 10 years so joining forces was an easy decision for them both. Before LeoLife, they had been DJ’ing individually in some of London’s top nightclubs causing some serious dancefloor damage, so by bringing their combined DJ experiences and skills together, a formidable partnership was created.
LeoLife pride themselves on their versatility in terms of music selection and set arrangement. Luke and Stephen have experience in a variance of set times and music genres ranging from house warm-up sets to big room Trance closing sets as well as driving Techno sets. Peak time sets are just as regular for LeoLife and the carefully chosen tracks reflect exactly the party atmosphere generated in the room. Being perfectionists, LeoLife are highly skilled when it comes to mixing techniques and using effects to compliment mixes and build ups.
The beginning of 2010 went down a storm playing the midnight set on New Years Eve at Scala under the Fused brand alongside Internationally acclaimed Smartie Partie, which is a sign of how far LeoLife have come in just over a year of Dj’ing. 2010 is set be a follow on of 2009’s success, with sets at potentially many new venues across the country as well as moving further into the realms of music production. Already there are a few tracks in progress with a view to exposing them in DJ sets over the course of the next year.
MARK MYERS
Mark has been playing for us now for nearly a year and this is already his 4th appearance. A Popular Dj who really knows how to set the tone of the night. The very best in progressive and tech house! We are delighted he will be performing on this special occasion!
BEN RUFFELL
Having played at some of the top clubs in London we are giving this young Dj his debut and a great place to showcase his progressive and electro based sound. Having played on the continent at clubs like BCM In Majorca as well he isn’t short of experience for his age.

Now the summer is over we turn our attention to bringing some quality labels onto the boat for the remainder of the year, starting with Andy Moor’s AVA Recordings label. Andy has hand picked 3 of his labels finest acts and producer/ Djs to showcase the AVA sound to the max.
This is the second AVA Party we have done. Last years with Andy Moor, Orkidea and David West was an amazing success and with the innovative and fresh line up we have in store this time with 2 London debuts it will definitely not be a party to miss!!

MIKE SHIVER
Producer, DJ & Label Manager; Mike Shiver has been one of the most talked-about upcoming talents over the last years.
Since breaking onto the scene in 2003 with one of the year’s most exciting productions: ‘Mike Shiver – Feelings (Lost Language)’, Mike has worked with labels like Armada Music, Nebula Records, Euphonic Records, Lost Language and the list just goes on.
December 2003 saw Mike start his own label, Captured Music. The first release on Captured ‘Sonicvibe & Mike Shiver – Lunation’ received massive support from many of the world top DJ’s.
Since the label launch of ‘Captured Music’, things have really taken off and Mike is currently DJ’ing throughout Europe & the states as well as spinning on various radio stations. Mike has also broadcast his own radio show entitled ‘Captured Radio’ on Digitally Imported (Di.Fm).
With excellent remix work from well known acts such as Solarstone, Ronski Speed (Sun Decade), Mike Koglin, Lost Witness, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Markus Schulz, Darude and Benno De Goeij (Rank 1), a long with keeping you constantly updated with fresh material. Mike has reserved himself a spot amongst the most promising of tomorrow’s DJs. This will be Mikes first London appearance for over 2 years, so it’s one we are very much looking forward too.
MYON AND SHANE 54
Myon & Shane 54 might not have a long history, yet they managed to achieve some notable success in terms of productions and / or remixes, besides weren’t short of fully-blown A-list Dj support in the past few months of their existence.
The duo started separately: Shane 54 & Myon were already established artists on their own right when they joined forces. Remixes for Oakenfold, Above & Beyond or Vandit on one side, a triple release as an introduction for Black Hole on the other. All entities were gone, resulting a “real” band, not just two guys who happened to work together for a few moments.
“We have this incredible musical bond” – says Myon, the 24-year old Hungarian from the South of the country, Szeged. – “Either of us starts a musical sentence, the other will finish it like it was meant to be. It’s weird, but very useful: we’re very effective together.”Their music speaks for itself: the guys scored a Beatport Number One remix (Andy Moor & Carrie Skipper – So Much More), and a Number One Single on Audiojelly (Vampire’s superb Gareth Emery remix, but their own version was number two as well).
Within a couple of weeks’ time three of their remixes were voted “Record Of The Week” on Above & Beyond’s “Trance Around The World” radio show, where they been just awarded “Guestmix of the Year” for their 30-minute mini-epic, that has clearly caused quite a stir on the TATW forums.
One of their signature songs, “Not A Lot Left” (with its fairly ironic vocal sample) also was a big record on Anjunabeats: it ended up on Above & Beyond’s 2008 compilation, “Anjunabeats Vol. 6.” According to the guys themselves the track was one of the highlights of their summer sets. The world’s number 4 dj trio seems to be really fond on them, just as most of the other guys in the top 10.
This was only the beginning though: after being featured on Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT 2008 compilation (and countless times on his radio show), Myon & Shane 54 has been asked to remix “Never Say Never” for his new artist album “Imagine The Remixes”.
“The challenge is tough: your music not only have to meet the standards and expectations of the number one dj of the world, but it actually has to be so good, he could call it his own.” – Shane 54 agrees they both had a hard time finishing it. – “We made 4 different versions, just to ditch them all immediately for the 5th. A lot of struggle went into this one.”
These days the guys working on something big again: they’ve been offered to make a mix compilation for Armada, Armin Van Buuren’s smashing international dance label. The tracklist is full of exclusive material, mostly their own takes of tracks they like, some of them never heard before or haven’t been available anywhere else.
They will be making their ES Debut, London Debut and UK Debut on this party!!
ASHLEY WALLBRIDGE
Ashley Wallbridge started his career very early on as a DJ. Known as a prodigy for winning 18+ dj competitions in the UK with fake ID. Ash has been featured on Radio 1 at the tender age of 16 alongside Fergie and Dave Pierce. During this time he also played at Newcastle superclub IKON to over 2500 people and all over the UK and now Europe. Age has never been a factor for him and 2008 saw him sailing his way into the production world with his first signing to Lyon Echo in NYC followed by the Definitive VOL 1 EP on Auryn Music and CAPTIVE on DBR. Ashley has had the support of most of the biggest names in HOUSE & TRANCE and is equally comfortable producing Prog, Electro, Trance, Vocal and Techno under no separate Alias. All but 2 releases have been in the top 30 in beatport prog and he has charted on too many playlists to mention. Always improving on the last and becoming very unpredictable Ashley is proud to be a son of all EDM music both as a dj and a producer. Look for him to surprise many this year and next and be the UK’s next big thing.
Ashley comes to us from sunny Stoke-on-Trent in England like Andy Moor with his own fusion of electro, trance, and progressive. Blasting in with his own EP, we’re sure to expect great things in the near future! Again this is another ES and London debut and one we wait for eagerly.
LIZZIE CURIOUS
One of the most popular Djs around and definitely at ES, Lizzie returns to us for her first ES gig since July after her summer in Ibiza where she had the privilege ( pardon the pun ) to be a weekly resident for Robbie Riviera’s Juicy night at Privilege. There she has continued to make a name for herself as one of the Uk’s top female Djs handing over the headphones to not only Robbie but also Marco V and Stonebridge to name a few. Many of the ES faithful will be eagerly awaiting this set, especially as Lizzie has managed to get her hands on some of the finest upfront tuneage possible over the summer. Don’t miss it !!
